Hillary Calling Squeaky Fromme
I'm trying, really trying not to write about Hillary Clinton. Everyone in America knows Obama is the nominee and her shrill insistence on carrying on is a joke. Even the media has pretty much written her off. But just when you thought you'd seen the worst of the Clintons, she reaches further into the gutter. This time she is attempting to justify staying in the race by saying Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June 1968. The none too subtle mesage is "Hey, you never know, he gets shot and I'm in." Maybe she's the 2008 Hubert Humphrey, the establishment candidate who wasn't going to beat RFK in '68. Here's what I really worry about now. There's no question in my mind Hillary Clinton is willing to do just about anything to win this nomination. And the math tells you it would take an act of God to stop Obama... or the act of a madman or madwoman. While Hillary is busy clarifying her remarks, the damage is already done, much like a lawyer poisoning the potential jury pool. Because here's what could happen. There are enough angry Clinton supporters, particularly older women out there who think she's been screwed. My concern is one of them hears Hillary's RFK comment and thinks she's been chosen to remedy the situation. I don't want to see a Squeaky Fromme or Sarah Jane Moore emerge from the shadows blasting away in some delusional belief she's helping Hillary become President. Comments like Hillary's can be interpreted by zealots as a call to action. Hillary knows exactly what she said and why. Again, shame on her.

Let me get this straight. You're asserting (not hinting) that HRC, a woman whose husband was President for 8 years, whose daughter was in the White House for almost as many years, and who was First Lady for 8 years, actually wants to see BHO assassinated so she can be President? I wonder if we can guess how many death threats she and her family had to deal with during their time in the White House. Are you asserting it was fun for her?
Are you asserting she has murderous intent? Are you asserting she has no empathy at all for the families of those who are under the same/similar pressures under which she lives?
C'mon, Jim. This is all way beneath you.
"Comments like Hillary's can be interpreted by zealots as a call to action." That is nonsense, and a disingenuous argument. Not you, but some crazy menopausal loon might take her remarks the wrong way? That’s your fear? Puh-leeze.
HRC did not say BHO should/could/would be assassinated. Ridiculous on its face and ridiculous for you, pal, to perpetuate the sophomoric skewering of her remark.
'"I want to set the record straight: I was making the simple point that given our history, the length of this year's primary contest is nothing unusual," Clinton said. She went on to say that she "was deeply dismayed and disturbed" that her comment about Kennedy's shooting would be construed as anything other than a historical reference.' (WaPo Mon. May 26)
Jeez, Jim. You will never give HRC a break, obviously. So how about giving me a break and am-scray from perpetuating this rap-cay? Whaddya say?
