Dolly Dousing Obama

An unintended consequence of the media's fascination with all things hurricane has been taking Obama's mid-east road show off the air. Maybe the networks were shamed into covering something else after days of fawning over President Obama. You can also feel the hunger for Katrina II on the part of the cable news gang. Oh how they want another hurricane in New orleans. Hilarious but pathetic.

I don't think that it is that bad; they seem to be covering both the hurricane and the Obama trip.

On the other hand, I noticed an almost comical comparison of Obama and McCain on the evening news last night. Obama was shown conferring with heads of state and McCain was shopping in a supermarket! Wow! Mike Deaver couldn't have staged that better himself.

I agree, Herb. Obama is getting great coverage because there is something interesting to cover. Hurricane Dolly is getting great coverage because it is an important story with wonderful visuals. Mr. McCain is shooting himself in the foot and no one seems to care. 1 reporter meets him in New Hampshire, he allows himself to be filmed in front of the packaged cheese display. With flourescent lighting besides! No 7th grade A-V squad could do worse. I get the feeling McCain just can't muster up sufficient enthusiasm for this race, despite the closeness of the polling data. Maybe this is good news for Mittens?
